I've had four of the Nyx Liquid Suede Lipsticks in my possession for a couple of months now. I wanted to thoroughly try them out and give my thoughts on them.
Nyx Lipsticks Review
These lipsticks are described as soft, vibrant, waterproof and long lasting. These are a liquid to matte formula and I thought they'd be the same as the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams, but they're a little different.
Nyx Matte Lipsticks
These are pretty opaque and glide on smoothly. The formula feels a little thicker and more mousse-y than the soft matte lip cream. They're also easy to apply and take a couple of minutes to set, so you have more time to clean up any mistakes. I don't find that I need a lip liner to get a smooth application.
These do have a pretty large doe foot wand.
Nyx Liquid Lipstick Review
I have 4 colors at the moment.
  • Tea & Cookies: Muted Rosy Pink
  • Life's a Beach: Bright Coral
  • Kitten Heels: True Red
  • Stone Fox: Gray with blue undertones

I chose these four because of how different they were from each other. However, I don't need to review them separately as I intended because they all perform the same. They all applied evenly, opaquely and smoothly. They aren't streaky or patchy. They're pretty long lasting and dry down to a matte finish.

Are they waterproof?
Yes. Water does not remove them.
Are they smudge-proof?
Not 100%. After they're totally set, you can still smudge them but you really have to try.
Do they transfer?
Yes. Not a lot by any means, just a tiny amount and it doesn't remove the color from your lips.
Are they long-lasting?
Yes. These wear for around 6 hours without fading if I'm not eating. Food, especially anything with oil will cause them to fade. They generally seem to fade in the center first so touch-ups are simple.

Overall, I recommend picking these up. I want to get more of the colors, for sure. They retail for $7 and you can usually grab them at Ulta when Nyx has their buy one get one 50% sale.

Do you own any of the Nyx Liquid Suede Lipsticks? Which shade is your favorite?

Thanks for reading!

  11. I received one of these lippies in a previous Ipsy bag, and I unfortunately didn't like it :( It was really flaky and I got this bright Nicki Minaj style pink that was just way too bright for my liking
