This is only MY opinion. It literally has no affect on you whatsoever. This is for fun, I don't mean any of this to hurt anyone's feelings and by all means, if you love a trend, keep doing it!

Let's get started with the trends I'd like to see less of!
  • Sharpie Brows. Brows that are way too dark, harsh and obviously drawn on need to go. If you don't have to draw on your brows like that, then why are you?
  • Super obvious contouring. At what point does that jaw line contour become a neck-beard? We may never know. But seriously, those harsh lines on your face, nose, jawline and forehead isn't all that flattering in person. Subtle contouring is gorgeous but no one needs to see the lines on your face.
  • Extremely heavy foundation. I understand that some girls have sun spots, acne scars, etc. that they're trying to cover. But if your skin is decent, why cake on a heavy foundation? It goes along the same lines as the obvious contouring, it looks good in pictures but usually not in person.
  • Baking.  This is a trend I don't exactly understand. You know that ridiculous flashback you see in some pictures? Baking is asking for it. It can be really drying and you really don't want to dry out your under eye area as it is so prone to wrinkling.
  • Overdrawn lips. Overdrawing your lips can be done well. Some girls, like myself, overdraw our own lips every day. I have a very crooked lip line that I attempt to even out, and some days it comes out better than others. I'm not perfect, no one is but the hugely, obviously overdrawn lips are just not good.
  • Half buns. Can we please stop with the awkward little half bun on the top of your head? It just makes you look like your head is shaped funny.
  • Coffin Nails/Stiletto Nails. How are you even going to do your makeup with those? Contact lenses must be your mortal enemy.
  • Kylie Jenner. Anything & everything to do with the Jenners and Kardashians, whether it be their personal lives, makeup, hair or fashion. No thank you.
  • Can we please stop being offended by absolutely everything in 2016? Please? Because it's ridiculous.
That's it for my beauty trends I'd like to see less of. Please remember that it's only my opinion and doesn't actually matter.

Let me know in the comments what trends you'd like to see less of in 2016!

Thanks for reading!

  1. I love your list. The first time I say baking I tried it and couldn't believe how unflattering it looked.

    1. I know! It really ages you, and these girls don't even realize it, they just blindly follow what girls/boys on youtube tell them to do!

  2. Agree with you on everything, including the Kardashians. Why an established brand like Estee Lauder would mingle with a girl from the clan to promote their products is beyond me. They might be trying to appeal to younger crowds, but I'm afraid their traditional customer base isn't impressed!

    1. I don't get it either. I assume they're trying to appeal to younger crowds, but that's definitely not the demographic they should be focused on!

    2. I don't get the Estee Lauder thing either! There's a commercial where Kendall is dancing and she looks so unimpressed--it makes me giggle every time.

  3. Oh yes definitely less Kylie Jenner. I still can't believe everyone was obbessed with her lipkit

  4. I agree with most of your list. But I really like my pointed nails. It helps with making my nail beds look longer and my fingers slender. I'll keep rocking those ;)

    1. I think that they can be pretty, the super long ones scare me. I wear contacts, so the thought of pointed nails anywhere near my eyeballs gives me anxiety, haha!
