Because there's a snow storm headed straight for my little town, I thought this would be a great post to write. I'm sure many of us will be trapped in our houses at some point this winter, so here are some ideas of things you can do when the snow decides to hold you hostage.
things to do when you're bored

  • Netflix Binge. It's the perfect excuse for a Netflix binge and no one can shame you for staying in all day!
  • Movie Night. This kind of goes hand in hand with Netflix, but make some popcorn, or your favorite snack and watch movies all day.
  • Video games! Do you like playing video games? Spend a day doing that.
  • Board games. Stuck at home but have other people stuck with you? Force them to play board games and try not to fight over monopoly, because you are stuck there together. You've been warned.
  • Bake. Make cookies, candies, your favorite treat. You're stuck at home anyway, may as well enjoy it!
  • Write/Draw/etc. Have a favorite creative outlet? Do that all day! When I'm stuck at home, I love to write and mess around in Photoshop. It's great practice and you're actually being productive.
  • Read. I love to light candles, grab a blanket and curl up in a chair with a book. So nice.
  • Color. Adult coloring books are a great stress reliever and a lot of fun. If you haven't colored in one, you're seriously missing out.
  • Make hot chocolate. What better way to stay warm and cozy. Extra marshmallows, please!
  • Play in the snow! If you're feeling especially adventurous, go out and play in the snow.
  • Clean. No, this isn't fun but really, what better time to catch up on the house cleaning we all know we've been slacking on.
  • Do your makeup. Sometimes it's fun to just play with your makeup and this is the perfect time. You're not going anywhere, so you can do the craziest makeup and then just wash it off.
So those are a few suggestions of things you can do when you're snowed in. Some are fun, others aren't but the important thing is to occupy yourself so you aren't bored.

If you're getting hit with a crazy snow storm like I am, stay safe and warm!

Thanks for reading!

  3. What a fun post. I'm in Northeast Ohio, and we've had a really mild winter. I hope everyone is safe in this storm, but I must admit I'm a little jealous...I could go for a good weekend snowed in!
