I did a post not too long ago about how to maintain bright hair colors. It was pretty all encompassing, but there are a few specific products I use to maintain red hair that I wanted to talk about.

I use a specific shampoo and conditioner, Joico Color Infuse Red.
Products for red hair

I use these once a week to maintain my hair color. These are a color depositing shampoo and conditioner and it's made a huge difference in my hair.
Products to keep red hair longer
As you can tell, it's VERY red.

I use these and wash my hair in cold water. I try not to put many products in my hair, so I apply an oil and a root plumper, and if my hair is feeling dry I'll also use a spray in my hair.

I'm using this Peter Lamas Styling Mousse as a root lifter, and the Repair Me spray to strengthen and hydrate my hair. I'll use the Hold Me Thermal Styling Spray on the rare occasion that I bother to heat style my hair.

I never blow dry my hair, as I find it to be damaging and time consuming and since I currently work from home, I'm rarely in that big of a rush.

A few other tips that I have are to never wash your hair in hot water. use dry shampoo in between washes, only wash it every 3-4 days and don't have unrealistic expectations. Red hair requires regular upkeep and it can get expensive. Depending on how often you wash your hair, it can need re-done anywhere from every 4-12 weeks. Mine generally needs re-done after 6 weeks and I wash my hair every 4-5 days.

If you have red hair and are looking for a good shampoo & conditioner, definitely try out the Joico Color Infuse Red line. I got them at Ulta at a 2/$20 sale, so it's definitely worth it and it really does work!

Thanks for reading!
