Dates can be stressful and confusing. Things can go wrong, and mistakes can be made. I'm married, so a lot of the regular first date problems aren't a problem for me. I don't have to worry about saying the wrong thing or not having anything to say but I do have to worry about things going wrong because that's part of life.

My husband and I have been married for a while, and we're both extremely busy, so date nights don't come around as often as we like. Because of this. we're always trying to be proactive in finding ways to prevent mini-emergencies that could be date ruining.

Today I'm going to share some tips on how to fix little problems that go wrong, or ways to prevent them completely.

  • The most obvious. keep a compact mirror with you. You're going to want to touch up your lipstick at some point, especially if you're having dinner. Eyeliner tends to smudge, and sometimes your hair takes on a life of its own. Mirrors are handy, don't leave the house without one.

  • One of the problems that I have is heartburn, and I get it often. A simple way to deal with this is Nexium 24HR. Nexium 24HR may take 1-4 days for full effect, use as directed. Nexium 24HR is the #1 prescribed acid blocker brand (Based on IMS health data: total Nexium® prescriptions 2006 - 2014).

  • Q-Tips are a great thing to keep in your handbag. You never know when you'll need one to clean up a mascara smudge, lipstick smudge, runny eyeliner, etc.

  • Another common problem is getting a headache. This actually happened to me on the last date my husband and I went on. We made it through dinner, but then I had to go home instead of to a movie because I got a sudden headache. If I had the Advil Liqui-Gels with me it could have saved our date. Nothing’s faster on tough pain (among OTC pain relievers). Use as directed.

  • I don't know about the rest of you girls, but my hair is always getting in my face and it makes me crazy! So, it's nice to always keep some bobby pins with you, just in case.

  • When I'm going out, I prefer to wear a matte liquid lipstick. This is because it's less likely to smudge, and touch ups will be easier, if they're needed at all. To make sure these apply as I'd like, I like to use ChapStick Total Hydration while I'm getting ready, before I apply the liquid lipstick because it's 100% natural and has an advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rosehip oils. It also instantly smooths and moisturizes. I also like to keep this with me, because if my lips start to feel the slightest bit dry, I will apply this over my liquid lipstick, as well as again as soon as I remove it.

  • Always keep bandages in your handbag as well, you never know when someone might need one!
