It's fall, which means it's the time of year for hoodies, leggings, boots and scarves. It's my favorite time of the year. The fashion, makeup, everything is just better in fall, not to mention the drinks, foods, holidays, movies, etc.
This is going to be a week full of fall related posts, and we're going to start with how to dress comfortably for fall, the leggings edition.
Essentially this means wearing clothes that fit properly, finding leggings that aren't too thin, and wearing things that work for you instead of against you.
Don't let this be you.
Now, I've never been a fan of someone telling me to dress for my body type or that I can't wear this or that. That is not what I mean at all. What I mean is to wear what you're comfortable in. If you don't feel confident in it, you probably shouldn't wear it. If you feel uncomfortable and awkward, you'll appear uncomfortable and awkward.
Leggings are an area where you need to be especially careful. You'll need to be sure they aren't too thin or things can get extremely awkward pretty quickly. Make sure you get a pair that fits you, in your correct size. Just because you can get them on, doesn't mean they fit you. Leggings are made to stretch, but stretching too much does you no favors. Quite the opposite, because it will make you look larger that you are, and it makes them thinner, and that's what we are trying to avoid.
A good way to see if your leggings are too thin is to put them on, stand in front of a mirror and take a picture with flash. If you can see skin, they're too thin.
If that's the look you're going for, then by all means continue, but if you're trying to avoid people seeing right through your leggings, that is an easy test.
Another fail-safe is to wear a longer shirt; one that's long enough to cover your butt.
Leggings can get tricky around that time of the month, and you'll want to be more careful if you're a pad wearer. I typically skip leggings for this week no matter what, simply because it makes me uncomfortable
During this week, I prefer jeans. To help maintain comfort and know I'm covered, I also like to use U by Kotex® Lightdays® Liners. These work for a light flow or tampon back-up, so they're my go to. They comfortably flex with your body, and are breathable and soft. They have stay in place protection to keep you secure.
