Essential oils are one of the most versatile products I've ever owned. The two we're going to talk about today are by Insta Natural, and they're Lemon & Peppermint*. They sent these to me to review, and I wanted to share my thoughts as well as some things you can do with them.
First off, these oils from Insta Natural are my favorite that I've used. I also love that they come with a dropper. The bottles are a nice size and they're affordable. You can find them on Amazon for $20.
Let's start with a couple of things you can do with either oil.
  • You can make scented body butter or body lotion. This is something that I love to do, and I'm going to do again soon, so if you'd like a separate post on this let me know! Here's the quick rundown. To make body butter, you'll need coconut oil, shea butter, vitamin e oil and your essential oil of choice.
  • Scented candles. For this you'll need wax, wicks, containers and your oil(s) of choice.
  • Spider Repellent. This is probably a lesser used idea, but this is my personal favorite. I'm horribly terrified of spiders, and my washer and dryer is in the basement. So, to keep them out of my way, I mix a few drops of lemon essential oil, a few drops of peppermint essential oil with some water and spray it around my basement. I do this every couple of days because I found out that spiders hate both of those scents, so I figured if I spray both, they'll hate it twice as much, right?!
  • Skin Care. Oh yes. This is just for the lemon essential oil, but you can add a couple of drops of this to pre-existing skin care products, such as your face wash, or find a DIY recipe. This will soften, brighten, and smooth your skin. It helps to fade dark spots and makes a nice toner.
  • Migraine relief. Mixing peppermint oil with a little bit of another oil such as Jojoba and applying it to the temples of your head and the back of your neck can help alleviate the pain of migraines.
  • Muscle Cramp Relief. Mix a few drops with another oil like before, and apply it to your sore muscles. It will help to alleviate the pain.

So, that's a few ways to use these oils. but there are SO many uses for them. If you'd like to see a step-by-step DIY post on the body butter, let me know in the comments and I'll be sure to do that!

Thanks for reading!
