Foundation is important. As the name states, it's the foundation of your entire makeup look. So, obviously it's important, which is why your foundation can make or break your look. Today, I'm going to be reviewing a new-er  foundation that I purchased from the drugstore. Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation was hyped up for a little while, and then I stopped hearing about it, so I decided to go ahead and pick it up so I could review it.
Rimmel Matte Foundation
Rimmel Stay Matte foundation can be found at the drugstore, and it retails for less than $6. It's a thick, mousse-y type of foundation, and it comes in a squeeze tube. It comes in 8 shades, but it doesn't seem to have any really dark shades. I found that Light Porcelain is the perfect shade for me, and it's also the lightest shade, surprise surprise.

As I mentioned, the texture of this foundation is really thick. I find that it doesn't work with my beauty blender. It also takes forever to blend in with a brush, so my fingers seem to work best. In my opinion, this is a foundation that needs a primer, otherwise it doesn't blend well. It clings horribly to dry patches, and looks cake-y if you aren't extra careful. It sinks into my pores as well.

Let me say that I realize this is most likely a foundation geared toward oily skin. I have extremely dry, picky skin so not a lot of foundations work well for me.
The coverage on this is pretty good. Definitely medium-full coverage. If you set it with a setting spray, it helps with the finish and it looks a bit more natural. I recommend using a good pore filling primer with this foundation, and make sure you're extremely moisturized. This is not a foundation for a dry skin day. It can tend to feel heavy and it does transfer from your face onto anything that touches it.
If applied perfectly and carefully, this foundation can look really good. There are days that I wear it and love it, and there are other days that I hate it. So, should you buy it? I don't recommend it if you have dry skin. If you're oily, give it a shot. If you're dry, grab the L'oreal True Match. It's in the same price range, but it's better on dry skin, not to mention the color range is phenomenal. I've reviewed L'oreal True Match and True Match Lumi in the past. I still think they're the two best drugstore foundations, and they have no competition.
