This post is exactly what the title says. It's Fitness Friday. I'm bringing it back because, well, it's time.
I haven't posted one of these in a couple of months, mostly because there's been no fitness, haha. I've been eating everything I wanted & not working out and that's just not working for me, obviously. So, I got a gym membership last week. This is my official 1 week anniversary.
So, I'm going to share my thoughts and experiences so far.
I've never had a gym membership before. When I was a teenager, my mom had one and I went to the YMCA with her. But at that point, it was just for fun because I was already very athletic as I've always played sports and I was always extremely active.
So as far as having a gym membership on my own, never had. It always scared me. I didn't want people watching me while I work out because how creepy does that feel? And not only that, how self-conscious does that make you feel? So, I had never honestly considered it.
Not too long ago, they put in a new gym about 30 minutes from where I live. Conveniently next door to Ulta. We were told all kinds of awesome things about this gym; about how large it is, how inexpensive it is and how it's judgement free. They even have a dress code and a no-grunting rule. I thought 'yeah right', but decided to go check it out with my husband. As it seems, all of this is true. We signed up, it's definitely not expensive and it's huge.
So, onto the important things. I've been going for a week now. I've had two days of rest this week.
I do cardio and weight training every day.
I do between 15-30 minutes of cardio. This is either on an exercise bike or a treadmill, but I prefer the bike as treadmills hurt my knees.
Some days I'll do leg and arm exercises, other days just one or the other. It depends on how sore I am when I get there.
I also prefer to do my cardio first, but I've done this both ways.
I'm usually at the gym for around an hour a day, 5 days a week.
This is my current schedule and I have no plans to change it.
So far I'm really happy there. The drive is kind of long, but I don't mind so much. The gym is great and I'm really proud of myself for going 5 days this week, and I plan to keep it up.
I know weight fluctuates and you lose a lot at first, but
I've lost 15 pounds since last Monday(16th).
As far as food, I've been eating pretty well.
I've stayed between 1200-1500 calories per day.
I'm not drinking anything other than water. I eat a lot of fruit and salads, but I don't eat dressing, croutons or anything like that in my salad.
I think that's all I have to say for now. It's been a week of small victories and muscle soreness.
And if you made it this far, I have a surprise for you...

I'm giving away a Borghese Mud Mask. Terms and conditions are in the widget. Good luck!
