I recently purchased the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream and I've been using it pretty much every day. I figured I've been using it long enough to give it a fair review, so here we are.
BareMinerals BB Cream Review Swatches

I've been looking for a BB cream or something similar that I can use during the day when I'm just running errands or going to class. I hate applying a full coverage foundation when I'm only running out to class or to go grocery shopping, so I needed something to fill that gap. Don't get me wrong, I do not wear makeup every single day. I also don't feel like I need to wear makeup to leave my house, but I typically just like to. I just felt like I needed to clarify.
BB creams, CC creams, tinted moisturizers and the like are something I've had plenty of experience with. I've used many in the past, and I've loved the majority, but I wanted something different. I even have some of my old ones, but they are the wrong color for me now, as I have totally lost my tan and I have no hope of getting it back.
When I'm looking for a daily wear BB cream, I'm looking for something that's fast, hydrating, long-wearing, and light-medium coverage. I want something that isn't going to fade in 3 hours, something that doesn't cling to dry patches or sink into pores, and that's what I got.
The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream comes in a squeeze tube. I got the second to lightest shade, despite that I should have known better. It's the tiniest bit too dark for me, but I lighten it up with powder. There are 10 shades in the line, starting at pretty fair and going to tan. There aren't any really dark colors which is sad. I think this is a fairly new product because I couldn't find many reviews on it and that's another reason I decided to pick it up.
Let's talk about how the website describes it:
  • It's mineral based
  • It combines the best of BB creams, CC creams and tinted moisturizer.
  • Provides increased hydration after a week
  • SPF 30
  • Gives a soft, radiant, smooth appearance.
  • Sheer to medium coverage
  • Energizes and replenishes skin
  • Contains antioxidants
  • Improves the appearance of skin
  • Paraben, silicon, fragrance and oil free.
  • Hypo-allergenic
That's quite the list of claims, and now we'll discuss whether or not it's worth the hype they're giving.

It hasn't caused any breakouts, it doesn't dry out my skin, and doesn't sink into my pores. It doesn't cling to dry patches, and it doesn't sink into fine lines. So, what does it do? It smoothes the appearance of my skin, it smoothes over my pores, it makes my skin look brighter and glowy, it blends in well, it doesn't need a primer, it evens my skin tone and it hydrates. It has a light coverage that is slightly buildable. I have a lot of redness, and it doesn't cover it all in one layer, so I build it up on the red areas and it works just fine.

I'm actually really impressed with this product. bareMinerals isn't a brand I'm familiar with; I used the powder foundation when I was in high school and I never really liked it, so I've avoided them ever since and now I'm regretting it because I love this product. I want to try more of their products now, so I plan to pick up an eye palette soon to try that out.

Anyway, this is the perfect day-day foundation. It looks SO natural, and I'm in love with it. It actually lives up to its claims, which is something that few products do. If you're in the market for an everyday foundation, get a sample or take the plunge!

I purchased this from Sephora, and you can find it there for $29.
