I grabbed the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette a couple of weeks ago with a gift card I got for Christmas. Yes, I know, I'm probably the last person in the world to buy it, as I was for the original Naked palette, but I'm picky and I don't even care.

Let's take a moment to discuss my temporary lapse in sanity when I bought this palette.
I've loved the IDEA of this palette since it was first announced. A rose-y toned palette? Gimme. I'm all about that. Despite the voice in the back of my head screaming that I will NEVER touch this palette, I bought it. I lapsed. It's a problem.
Don't get me wrong, the palette is beautiful. The colors? Beautiful. However, this is a palette of soft colors and I like more dramatic looks 80% of the time. This is perfect for soft, pretty day time looks.
That's where things go downhill for me.
I'm not someone who wears soft, natural makeup on a daily basis. I just don't. It's not me.
I'm typically up early and in class/work all day, where I sometimes don't even wear makeup at all. If I do, I go to my MUG shadows, because when I'm tired and in a rush I stick with what I know. I don't want to have to THINK that early, ya know?

Those colors are beautiful, let's be honest.

So how do I really feel about this palette?
I have no idea.
I've used it a few times. I tend to forget about it, which probably isn't a good sign.
I love the palette, it's beautiful, the shades are awesome, the undertones are magical, but did I need it? Absolutely not. Is it something I'll reach for on a daily basis? Not at all.
It is what it is. I use my Makeup Geek eyeshadows daily, and I really don't think about any other palettes or eyeshadows. I'm not even ashamed of it.
If you're someone who likes soft, pretty, natural makeup, grab this palette!
It's definitely possible to do smokey eyes with this palette as well, I've done so already and it's so pretty!

I honestly don't know what my aversion is to this palette, it's just not my favorite.
I know one reason I'm disappointed in this palette is because my two favorite shades 'Dust' and 'Trick' aren't the best quality, much like 'Sidecar' from the original Naked palette, only worse.
So that's extremely disappointing, but I was aware of this before I bought it and still, I bought it.
I'm claiming temporary insanity.

Okay, quick review!

I hate the packaging. I like the packaging of the original Naked palette, this tin packaging just sucks. Sorry, not sorry,

The quality of the shadows is overall good. Dust and Trick as mentioned above aren't too great. The rest are nice, pigmented, smooth and easy to blend.

The color range and tones are awesome. I think this palette is universally flattering.
It can definitely be used without any other palettes. It has good a nice highlight shade, crease colors, outer v shades and tons of lid shades.

I do like this palette, but I'm not in love and I totally wanted to be in love with it.
That's why this is such a disappointing review for me.

I'd like to add that I do NOT regret purchasing this palette and that I don't want this review to be negative! This palette is more than worth the $54 I spent and I'm glad I bought it. I'm just disappointed that I'm not all that attached to it.

I'm going to give it some more time and hope I fall in love with it.
Thanks for reading!
