I came across another blog post called Save Makeup, Save Money: Tips for Making Your Beauty Products Last and I absolutely loved it. It was so helpful, so I thought I'd share part of it with you, along with a link to the full post and share a few tips of my own.
The best tip that was given in the article, or at least my personal favorite was to wash your makeup brushes.
This is SO important. Yes, we all hate washing our brushes, it's a long, tedious and boring task, but it needs to be done, and more often than you're probably doing it.
Cleaning brushes not only extends their life, but it also helps extend the life of your products by cutting down on germs and oil in your powders.
Also, who wants all that bacteria on their face?! Hello, acne.
One tip that I have for you is to be more selective of what you buy. I know, we feel like we should buy every new product that comes out and I'm totally guilty of this, but just stop and think about it. Is it similar to something you own already? Are you really going to wear that purple lipstick? Does neon blue eyeshadow really important?

Along with that last tip, if it's something you love and use daily, go ahead and splurge on it. But, if it's a product you don't find yourself reaching for often, why not find a less expensive dupe? Chances are there's a similar product in the drugstore for 1/4 of the price, you just have to look.
Have an expensive product that you just must have for special occasions? Why not buy a travel size version? It's less expensive and less likely to expire before you use it up!
Another thing you should do, which was kind of touched on in the other blog post is to take care of your products! Why not take a less expensive powder with you for touch ups? If you feel like you have to have the expensive product with you, be careful with it, your purse is a scary, hazardous place for beauty products!
One more thing is to purchase products that have multiple purposes. Use your concealer as eye primer. Use your face highlight powder as a brow bone and inner corner highlight. Use your contour powder as your eye crease shade. There are so many multi-purpose products!
What suggestions do you have to save money and/or help your beauty products last longer?
Let me know in the comments!
