It's time for the January Ipsy bag post!
In case you aren't aware, Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service open to US & Canada.
For US it's $10/month, I believe it's $12 for Canada.
Each month you will receive 4-5 deluxe or full size products, along with a different makeup bag suited to the current months theme.
If you're interested, go here to sign up or find out more info!
This months theme is:
19 Reasons
(btw, did anyone else's bag smell strange, like they used to when Ipsy was still My Glam?)
This months bag included 5 products, there were many different products you could have gotten, but the 5 I received will be shown below. I received 1 full size and 4 sample size products.
My Glam

Nourish Organics Face Lotion: This is a sample. This claims to even skin tone, improve texture and elasticity, hydrate and soften skin. It's fragrance free, alcohol free, gluten free and vegan. The full size retails for $21.99

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri Wheat Leave in Conditioner: This is also a sample size. This is supposed to detangle, replenish moisture, repair and strengthen. The full size retails for $17.95

3 in 1 RevoLotion: This is also a sample, although this is a very small sample, about the size of a small lip gloss pot. This is supposed to be a toner, serum and moisturizer in one. It says it's gluten free and natural. The full size retails for $29.98

Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow Pencil: This is also sample or travel size. The color I received is Penny. These are supposed to be long wearing, waterproof and smudgeproof. The full size retails for $14.99

Mica Beauty Tinted Lip Balm: I received the shade Natural, but if you buy it from the website it comes with a brush, the ones received in the ipsy bags didn't, which means you're sticking fingers in a pot. Not ideal for use outside of your home. This retails for $30.

So, here are my thoughts on this bag...

With a bag such as this one, skin care focused, it's going to be hard to please everyone(anyone?).
I'm not a fan of tiny samples such as the 3 in 1 revolotion. How are you going to know if you like a skin care product if there's only enough to use it maybe twice? The Nourish Organics face lotion is large enough to use for about 10 days, which is long enough to decide if you want the full size. The shadow pencil is okay, it's not really my thing but there are others who will love it. The Tinted lip balm is okay as well, I'm just not a fan of the pots, why didn't they just send the brush? Also, if I wanted to buy this, $30 is too much. I love Healthy Sexy Hair products, so I'll take those any day.

I'm okay with this bag, but I wasn't all that excited about it or excited to share it. I've had wonderful bags and I've had bags that were just okay. This is an okay bag. The problem is, we get a lot of Mica Beauty, Bombshell cosmetics, Cailyn Cosmetics, Elizabeth Mott, Nailtini and nail polishes in general, that people are getting burnt out on them. I would love a month where I didn't see any of those brands, but I just don't feel like that's going to happen.

Don't get me wrong, Ipsy is a great service and a great way to try new products. Also, it's so inexpensive, what's $10/month? I totally recommend trying  Ipsy if you haven't, especially if you're a beginner or just trying to expand your collection. Just don't expect to be blown away every single month.

Thanks for reading!
