Earlier this year, Pixi Beauty collaborated with some of their favorite influencers to release a collection of products. I've reviewed the rest of this collection, but somehow the collaboration with Caroline Hirons slipped through the cracks.
Pixi Double Cleanse Makeup Remover
The Pixi Beauty Double Cleanse is a 2 in 1 cleanser. One side is a solid cleansing oil and the other side is a cleansing cream. Let's talk about each side separately.
  • Solid Cleansing Oil: This is used to remove your makeup. It contains Vitamin E Oil to protect and condition, Camellia Oil to nourish and Evening Primrose Oil to heal and moisturize.
  • Cleansing Cream: This is used to cleanse the skin. It contains Vitamin C to promote Collagen, Peptide Complex to relax lines and plump, and Arginnie to improve cell renewal and elasticity.
So even though I forgot to post the review, I used this pretty much non-stop while trying out the other Pixi releases and I still alternate it with my other makeup removers.
Pixi Double Cleanse Review

It comes in a jar with a screw on lid and it's obviously divided into two sides. This is how most solid cleansing oils are packaged and since it's a duo, the cleanser is packaged in this way as well. This is definitely not my favorite way for the cleanser to be packaged, but it's fine. It's easy enough to get some out.

I'm about halfway through the jar now because you need so little product to get the job done. It really does a great job of removing makeup and cleansing the skin. The cleanser is pretty basic but that's what I like in a cleanser. It's also why I love my DermOrganic Cleanser. You shouldn't expect your cleanser to do a million things for you, it should just be cleansing your skin to prepare it for your skin care products and that's what it does.
Pixi Beauty X Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse Review

I definitely like the Double Cleanse and will definitely continue to use it. I may even repurchase in the future, but I have a couple of the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup Cleansing Balms to get through first. They work in essentially the same way and I love them both.

You can find the Double Cleanse on Pixi's Website.

  6. Getting a product like this would probably be a good idea for me, it'd be the only way I'd consistently remember to remove my makeup rather than just expecting my cleanser to do the job.

    1. I didn't think I'd like a balm, but I used the one from IT first and got addicted to them. They're so much better for your skin than makeup wipes.
