Pur Cosmetics is a cruelty free company that produces mineral makeup and skin care products. They've recently released a new No Filter Blurring Photography Primer and I've been testing it out over the past week.
Pur Blurring Primer

The No Filter Blurring Photography Primer is meant to moisturize, color balance, prime and illuminate the skin in one step. This primer contains essential oils like coconut, olive, and shea, as well as agave and essential fatty acids to prep the skin. It also contains prismatic blurring micro pearls to color correct. This primer not only blurs imperfections but also boosts radiance, leaving you with a dewy but shine-free finish.

I have pretty dry skin. I occasionally get oily around my nose in the spring and summer, but I'm mostly dry. This primer has been really good on my skin. I've used it a few different ways, so we'll talk about each of those.

First, let's talk about the packaging. It comes in a little bottle with a dropper. This kind of packaging seems to be popular with primers and foundations lately and to be honest, it's not my favorite. For this specific primer, however, it works. You really only need a drop of this primer, so putting this in any other kind of packaging would be wasteful. This way you can get exactly what you need.

Pur recommends you use it in 1 of 3 ways: under your foundation, mixed with your foundation, under your highlight. I've tried all 3, so let's talk about it.

After moisturizing, I'll apply this all over my face and let it sink in for a minute. Then I'll apply my foundation on top. I've tried this with the Pur Cosmetics Bare it All Foundation, It Cosmetics CC+ Cream, It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream, and Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation. It worked flawlessly with each of them. They all applied well and blended well on top and left me with a dewy, radiant finish.
Pur No Filter Primer Review

I've mixed it with the Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation and the Pur Cosmetics Bare it All Foundation and it mixed well with both. It gives the foundation a luminescent glow that is gorgeous. It's slightly more dewy than when you use it as a primer and it does make your foundation a little more sheer, but it's a gorgeous look. I've also used it as a primer AND mixed it with my foundation and loved the way that turned out well, too. Very radiant and gorgeous. For someone with dry skin, it really gives your skin life.

I've tried this as a base for my powder highlighters a couple of times and it works but I prefer to use a liquid highlighter or a cream highlighter for this instead. It doesn't disturb the foundation or the powders underneath but I think the purpose of layering products like that is for a more intense look and you'll get more intensity with a liquid or cream highlighter layered with a powder than this primer. If you want a light, natural, barely there sheen? Just apply this lightly with a beauty blended on top of your cheek bones when you've finished your makeup. It's gorgeous but it's super subtle.
Pur Primer Review

Overall, it's a great primer. It works well on my dry skin, and I think it might work for the oily girls as well. If you're looking for a great primer that you can mix with your foundation, something to make your skin look dewy and radiant, this might be what you're looking for. I've been trying a lot of primers lately, so I'm going to do a primer favorites post very soon.

You can grab this primer on Pur Cosmetics website.

What's your favorite primer?
