Since I got money for Christmas, I went to Sephora today. I didn't leave with anything that I intended to get, and instead, left with things I had no intention of buying.
I also picked one thing up from Wal Mart, and I'm going to show that as well, at the end.

The Sephora where I live is a small one, inside of JcPenney, and it's only been there for about 6 months or so. This is the first time I've ever purchased anything from there.

I went with intentions of getting the Urban Decay Primer Potion, Urban Decay Naked Palette, Urban Decay Smoked Palette and the Too Faced Chocolate Bronzer. I didn't get any of these things.

Instead I got:

I had no intentions of buying the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, because I thought it was too expensive. Don't get me wrong, I was DYING to get it, but I didn't want to spend $25 on a blush. But, after getting to the store and "just looking at it", I had to have it.
Let me just say, I went into Sephora, saying with 100% certainty that under no circumstances am I paying $25 for a blush, and then, I paid $25 for a blush. I have no willpower. It was just too pretty to leave behind! I'm not a pink blush kind of girl, this is perfect for me.

 Tarte Exposed

I also had no intention of purchasing Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I'm a UDPP girl, always have been. But mine is empty, and Sephora was sold out, even of the minis. They recommended this one, so, I'll try it. It was $18, so $2 cheaper than UDPP. I was told that this is better for oily lids than UDPP. We shall see, Too Faced, we shall see.

Eye Primer

I had completely forgotten the Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre drops existed. I've wanted them for a very long time, but I forgot Sephora had them. I was about to leave, but decided to glance at the Lorac Pro Palette, and saw these underneath. They were only $16, so I decided to pick them up.
This stuff is like liquid fairy dust. Guess what I'll be wearing on New Years Eve?

Lorac Lustre Drops

Lustre Drops

I put in 2 blurry shots to show the glitter. :) That's only 1 drop!

I wanted the Urban Decay Palettes, and they had them in stock, but after seeing them in person and swatching them, it occurred to me that I don't "need" them, so I'm not going to buy them. So not like me. I still really want them, and I'm kind of disappointed even that I didn't buy them, but I'm on a budget, and I'm spending $200 Saturday getting my tattoo finished (finally), so I decided I didn't need it right now. If I get desperate, I told myself I can buy the Naked Basics palette, but I really don't think I need it. I have the Balm Nude Tude Palette, and it has a lot of similarities to the Naked palette, and I don't wear nude shadows everyday, I'm usually more of a bright eyeshadow kind of girl.
And, I couldn't justify buying the Smoked palette, because $49 for it seems a bit steep to me. Pretty yes, but possibly not worth $49.

If we're being honest here, I'm kind of trying to hold out and save up to make a MAC palette. Is that a better idea than buying an Urban Decay one? I've never owned a MAC eyeshadow, but I've heard they are better quality. Can anyone confirm, or recommend some MAC colors? :)

So, after Sephora we walked around the mall for a bit, and I bought a little stuffed Oogey Boogey from the Nightmare Before Christmas at Hot Topic. He is so cute! I posted his picture on Instagram, if you want to see him. You'll love him too! Also, I spend way too much money on a hat. But, it too is adorable. It's leopard print and fuzzy. I'll take a picture wearing it soon so you can see.

After I got finished spending too much money on stuff at Hot Topic, we went to Wal Mart.
Unfortunately, the Wal Mart we stopped at didn't carry Wet n Wild products, which made me kind of sad.
But, I finally caved and bought a Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe.

Look what I did to it?! The very first time I opened it, my finger nail attacked it. :(
I've heard so many good things about the color tattoos, so I'm hoping this is as good as everyone makes it sound. It was only $5.

Hopefully I'll be able to pick up some Wet n Wild palettes soon, as I only have one so far.

Let me know if you'd like to see a review for any of these products, I'd be happy to post one. :)

Thanks for reading this post! I rambled a lot this time, sorry!

  1. I want to know how you like the shadow insurance. I tried the Lorac eyeshadow primer and its works pretty good.

  2. For me, I feel like the make your own MAC palette is okay. I prefer it over UD's "BYOP", but I would choose Inglot's freedom system over MAC. I used to only use UDPP, but since TF SI, I have been using it a lot more. The only downside to the Too Faced is that it separates after a few months, but giving it a good shake once in a while will do. I recently got Exposed as well & I love! :)

    1. Thanks for the info! I've never used Inglot shadows, maybe I'll give them a try!

  3. I do that very often. "I will not buy that foundation" all the way out through the store and while paying at the cashier. I generally lose that battle.

    1. Haha, yeah, that's exactly what happened to me. As I'm holding it and walking to the cash register I'm still saying "I'm not buying this". Lol!

  4. Great buys! I love Tarte blushes! I also love UD eyeshadows but I like Mac palettes too. If I had to choose between a build your own mac palette and a Naked, I would choose Naked any day! Love it!

    1. I've heard so many great things about Tarte blushes, and after seeing it in person, I couldn't leave without it. I'm still not 100% sure that I'm not buying the Naked palette, all of you ladies always make it sounds so good!

  5. I love Tarte blushes - I have one in Tipsy and it's amazing. I paid $30+ for it here and it was beyond worth it. They aren't bad for your skin and they last forever :)

    1. I'm so glad to hear it's worth the money. I'll be using mine for the first time tonight. I hope I love it!

  6. Sephora <3 omg, I'm exactly the same: "oh, I won't spend too much..." haha. Right.

I've never tried the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but I loveee their foundation primer, so hopefully it's just as good :)

  7. Thank you for sending me your link!
I hate it when finger nails attack nice shiny new eyeshadows... so annoying.
