This is the Maybelline New York Color Show Nail Lacquer in Twilight Rays.
This is a black polish with gold micro glitter.
Blurry pictures show the glitter best. :)
Anyway, onto the review!
This polish is very thin, and not really pigmented.
It takes 3 coats to be 100% opaque. If you only put on two coats, it will still be streaky and uneven.
Since it's thin, you would think that it would dry really quickly, but unfortunately, that is not the case.
Now, you've put in the effort of 3 coats and a top coat, and waiting for it to dry, and you think "I shouldn't have to paint my nails for a few days at least."
Mine chipped the first night.
The polish has already worn off of the ends, which you can see in the first picture at the top.
I love this polish color. The formula isn't the best. The brush is pretty long and thin, which I don't like. It isn't very long wearing, and it will stain your nails.
That being said, this polish retails for $3-$5, depending on where you purchase it.
Is $3 worth it? Sure. Sinful Colors is only $2, but I haven't been able to find a dupe for it from SC.
But, I wouldn't pay $5 for it, it's definitely not worth that much. You can find better alternatives for around the same price.
Where I live you can purchase China Glaze for around $4-$5, and I'm sure CG has a similar polish.
Am I telling you to absolutely not buy this polish because it's terrible? Of course not!
It's not terrible. I've had worse polish. Honestly, I have worse Essie polishes, and they're much more expensive. It's definitely not the worst polish I've used, just not the best.
It's a pretty polish, and if you don't have one like it, sure, go pick it up and try it!
Hope you liked this post!
